Following the regular meeting of the Political Bureau of the Syrian Communist Party (Unified) (SCP-U) held on July 10, a comminuqué was issued assessing the Qatar crisis and other regional developments.

In the statement, the PB of the SCP(U) appreciated the success achieved by the Arab armed forces, especially the armies of the Syrian and Iraqi in converging on the joint Iraqi-Syrian border, which is expressed as "an important strategic turning point in the course of the struggle against the terrorist enemy takfiri and global imperialists". It said that "the Western colonial scheme to create a state of discord between Damascus and Baghdad is failing".
The Political Bureau warned of the plans drawn by Erdogan in Turkey and the efforts to circumvent the decisions of Astana and Geneva in order to invade new territories of the Syrian province of Idlib. It was indicated that the enemies are trying to control certain terrorist factions among which contradictions are deepening.
The party pointed out the increase in the number of US military bases on Syrian territory and affirmed that "the Syrian people with all its components will not be silent on this reality". It was underlined that the Syrian people reject all subordination to the West and the Arab reactionary currents, whatever the sacrifices.

The statement assessed the crisis between Saudi Arabia and Qatar and considered the two countries as the two sides of a coin in the war waged against Syria. "The regimes have turned into operational tools for the USA, aiming to make the Middle East dependent and fully dedicated to the benefit of big monopoly capitalist companies, and the implementation of the great Zionist project."

The Political Bureau declared that it would participate in the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties to be held in Moscow under the title of "The 100th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution". The statement informed that the SCP(U) would be represented in the meeting by the General Secretary of the Party.
