The Communist Party of the People of Spain (PCPE):

The Secretary General of the PCPE, Carmelo Suárez, made a first statement expressing his solidarity with the victims and their families, and pointed to the responsibility of the Government of Mariano Rajoy, NATO and the EU, whose imperialist aggressions against Arab countries for more than two decades have provoked such actions. Suárez underlined that in the face of this type of violent action, the police states and military deployments are of no use and they end up being used against the rights of the working class. The statement by the PCPE called to put an end to imperialist policies with their wars of destruction and demanded the governments serving the capitalists to take the responsibility of their barbarism.

Comminuqué of the The Communist Party of Spain (PCE) and the Union of Communist Youth (UJCE):

We condemn the barbarism and terror and we show our solidarity with the victims and the people of Catalonia.

We have learned with first stupor and then repulsion the attack made today in Las Ramblas in Barcelona, where - according to the first news – a massive attack has left at least 13 dead and several tens wounded.

The PCE and the UJCE condemn the terror and barbarism of these acts and repudiate violence in all its forms. We show our condolences to the relatives of the victims and our solidarity with the wounded, hoping for their total recovery. We at the same time show our support to the people of Barcelona and Catalonia in these difficult moments.

Statement of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE):

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the murderous attack in Barcelona that claimed many lives and expresses its condolences to the victims’ families. The KKE expresses its solidarity to the Spanish people, who can now understand, as well as the rest of the peoples, that these murderous attacks that occur on the grounds of the escalation of the imperialist competitions, interventions and wars are used for terrorizing the peoples, for expanding the measures of repression, for strengthening xenophobia and intimidation.

That is why we need to strengthen our militant readiness and vigilance against interventions and wars, against dangerous plans and multi-tentacled criminal mechanisms that are being activated at the expense of the peoples.”

Statement of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP):

Jihadist murderers killed more than ten people and injured tens in Barcelona. Communist Party of Turkey  shares the deep grief of the people of Spain.

Peoples of the world wait for the next attack with fear. The horror by the jihadists all over the world never ends. There is even no clue of the end. Because, the murderers are fed by the darkness which rules around the world.

Darkness creates those murderers. Darkness is created by this order...

Within the roots of the darkness there is the failure of not eliminating religion of the politics. The ones who integrated the jihad into the curriculum in Turkey and the ones who drove vehicles over people in Barcelona have similar state of mind. No matter few or more, the existence of religion within the politics sphere provides space for those massacres.

Within the roots of the darkness there is the rise of the right wingers. The American fascist, who discriminates people according to their language, religion or race, and the jihadist murderer are close relatives. US President Trump who approves the former, and the AKP leader Erdoğan who believes in discrimination by religious beliefs, both confirm the massacres.

Within the roots of the darkness there is anti-communism and class antagonism. The jihadist gangs were taken on stage to fight Soviet Union by the US and its alliances. Those murderers were provided arms in the Middle East in line with the interests of the West. Later, those gangs grew stronger via the support of the West and the fundamentalist governments like AKP. They are as blameworthy as the ones who pulled the triggers, dropped the bombs, drove the vehicles.
