According the official website of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the KNE carried out a mass rally and march through the central streets of the Greek capital which had as its final destination the US embassy on Friday December 8. In its statement, the International Relations’ Committee of the Central Committee of KNE denounced the decision of the USA to declare Jerusalem as the “capital of Israel” and to transfer its embassy there from Tel Aviv.
The statement emphasized that ”the decision of the USA paves the way for a new imperialist crime. The new provocative act of the 'devilishly good'-according to Tsipras- Trump adds fuel to the fire in order to 'burn' the solution which entails the formation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, the solution for which the Palestinian people have been struggling and bleeding for so many years. The crimes of the murderous Israeli state against the Palestinian people have always been supported by the USA and EU.”
KNE called on the youth;
- To condemn decisively the torture of an entire people, the violence carried out by the Israeli state with the thousands of political detainees, the construction of the wall of shame, with the settlements and the continuing occupation of Palestinian territory.
- To intensify the struggle to put an immediate end to the torments of the Palestinian people.
- To strengthen solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people for the creation of their own independent and sovereign state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
- To fight so that the Greek SYRIZA-ANEL government ceases every economic and military cooperation with the murderous state of Israel and all participation in the plans of US imperialism. So that our country is no longer entangled in the plans for the region which are dangerous for the peoples and youth.
