The Communist Party of Peoples of Spain rejects the “Trident Juncture 2015” and calls for action on 24th October with the slogan: "Responding to NATO Imperialism with more Internationalism"

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Peoples of Spain (PCPE), expressed its rejection of the NATO manoeuvres “Trident Juncture 2015” and called on the militants and friends of the Party to participate in the demonstrations with the slogan "Responding to NATO Imperialism with more Internationalism"
PCPE has released a statement underlining the necessity of Spain to unilaterally withdraw from NATO and other imperialist structures and calling for the closure of foreign military bases in Spain.
The Central Committee of PCPE has also announced that the current refugee crisis is a result of the “interventionalist actions of the NATO and EU member countries, among others, in countries such as Syria, Libya, Iraq or Afghanistan.” The statement pointed out that the negotiation of EU countries about the refugee quotas is a “hypocrisy” due to “their support for the destabilization of the refugees’ home countries and benefit the monopoly capital with new flows of cheap labor”,
The PCPE has warned against the danger that Spain will become a strategic base for operations in North Africa and the Mediterranean by NATO, the EU and the USA.
"Trident Juncture 2015"
The NATO exercise called “Trident Juncture 2015” involves 36,000 soldiers from more than 30 nations. The live exercises are planned to take place between 21st October - 6th November and will span over different locations including Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, Canada, Norway, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. It is also known that more than 12 major international organizations, aid agencies and non-governmental organizations, such as the EU and AU will also participate in the exercise.
