Balkan communist and workers' parties gather in Sofia

Communist and workers parties of the Balkans gathered in Sofia for the meeting on “100th Anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the Red Project in the Balkans: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”.

The international conference of communist and workers' parties of the Balkan countries took place this year in Sofia on 7-8 October. 8 parties out of 10 attended the meeting hosted by the Communist Party of Bulgaria and the Party of Bulgarian Communists. The title of meeting was “100th Anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the Red Project in the Balkans: Yesterday, Today and Tomarrow”.

The participants of the meeting besides the Bulgarian communists were Communist Party of Macedonia, Socialist Workers' Party of Crotia, Communist Party of Greece, Serbian Communists Party, Communist Party of Romania and Romanian Communitarian Party, AKEL and Communist Party of Turkey.

The meeting was opened by the speeches of Aleksander Paunov, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bulgaria and Mincho Minchev, Chairman of the Party of Bulgarian Communists. Following the contributions of the participant parties a joint statement was written unanimously.
