17th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMWCP) started in Istanbul

The main agenda of the 17th IMCWP is "the tasks of Communist and Workers’ Parties to strengthen the struggle of the working class against capitalist exploitation, imperialist wars and fascism, for workers’ and peoples’ emancipation, for socialism".

The 17th International Meeting of the Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP), which is hosted by the Communist Party, Turkey (KP), has started in İstanbul. 17th IMCWP will be held between October 30th and November 1st.

The main agenda of the meeting will be "the tasks of Communist and Workers’ Parties to strengthen the struggle of the working class against capitalist exploitation, imperialist wars and fascism, for workers’ and peoples’ emancipation, for socialism"

Prior to the 17th IMCWP gathering, Working Group meetings took place on 29th October. 

The main meeting started with an opening ceremony, where the "Communist Internationale" has been sung all together by the participants.

The International Relations Bureau of the KP reported that there are more than 120 delegates form 58 participant Communist and Workers' Parties at the meeting.

The programme will proceed with the presentations of the participants' contributions in six sessions on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st. There will be three sessions on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday for second round commentaries and further discussions on IMCWP topics.

All the participant Parties are also invited to a meeting as part of the electoral campaign of the KP on Friday 30th October evening at Haliç Convention Centre in İstanbul. The 17th IMCWP participants will join the meeting and meet and greet the communists of Turkey expressing their solidarity with the struggle of KP in the tough electoral environment in Turkey.
