In the opening speech of the Seminar, Oscar Figuera, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCV, said the following: “Today, as Venezuelan communists, we reaffirm the Leninist character of our party. A party of revolution should have a clear class-based definition, with a working class ideology and program, with an international character, with a collective conduct, and with an absolute independence from the bourgeois class and its tool, the bourgeois state.”
